Ideas... Ok, maybe just ramblings...

We want to expand the usage of CES. What group of people would be able to learn a new system the quickest? Who would be the most willing to adapt and accept a new type of currency? The answer is children and young people.

One of the areas that I feel our current educational system is the most lacking in is financial matters. Why not teach them by exposing them early to a system such as CES. A parent could, according to their discretion hire their children to do chores or get an allowance and pa… Continue

CES, Me and a User Guide...

I started looking into CES almost a year ago - was intrigued - signed up - had questions - wasn't sure if it would contribute to the ideas/dreams I had.

CES got shoved to the back of my mind while I pursued different diversions... I played around ideas for creating my own classified ad website using credits or points but each time I would run into one road block or another.

I fell in and out of love with different web designs, programming languages, wiki engines, etc. During this time everyone… Continue

Guys, I have a great idea for a video. What if we did a piece on someone who lives totally on this sort of system? Like maybe a CES roadtrip movie. It's kind of a dare. I mean, someone who gets along with almost no official wampum. It would be int...

I have loved sailing for as long as I can remember. I am currently trying to build a "mouseboat" with my son. I love the idea of being self employed and would love to setup a business that my family and I could do together.

I currently work for a phone company doing IT work and use the Open Source Asterisk project for use in a lot of phone related applications.

I also would like to be involved in developing small communities into thriving centers for development, energy and independence. The stronger the small communities are the more independent they can be and thus less dependent on Federal (National) aid and the inevitable rules.

Thanks for your comment. My website is under reconstruction right now. But it is always nice to get comments on what you do. I was just very busy for the last few month.

Dear Karl,
Thanks for your comment and for the encouraging words. Your comment motivated me to add some of what i didn't really have time to write in the first place.
I see you are one of our "American cousins." I thought you were here in New Zealand when I first read your comment.
I guess your dad uses "biodiesel" in his vehicle. Our system is much simpler with no chemicals or glycerine byproducts.
Have you looked into alcohol yet? If you haven't, I recommend you visit "www.permaculture.com" and do a search on "Alcohol can be a gas" There is a Transition Town, I believe in Indiana, that is looking at backing a local currency with alcohol, the fuel. It is something we also propose toinvestigate and hope to work with the the US folks on it. In view of what is happening to the debt money system and the corrupt banking system worldwide, we all need an alternative, whereby power can be returned to the people, where it belongs, and taken from the small elte who have it now.
Regards
Geoff

Book Review: The End of Money and the Future of Civilization

By Thomas H. Greco, Jr

Published by: Chelsea Green Publishing, White River Junction, Vermont, USA (www.chelseagreen.com), 2009. ISBN 978-1-60358-078-6

Thomas Greco is the most radical writer on money today. The very title of the book suggests that the future of civilization depends on abandoning money-as-we-know-it. What could be more radical and revolutionary than that? Yet on readin… Continue

Introducing COGS

The Point of COGS

COGS stands for Circle of Gifts, and is a complementary currency specifically designed to help local communities re-localise activities. The aim of re-localisation is to provide inhabitants with the possibility of an acceptable quality of life when traditional economic development fails, or their circumstances are against them.

We believe complementary currencies will become more important as energy supplies dwindle and impact the economic growth so essential for inter… Continue

Mobilising The Real Wealth of Community - An Article by Alana Tobin

People around the world are increasingly concerned and even fearful about the present state of our economy and the real possibility of a recession turning into a depression. Having grown dependent upon an economic system which has increasingly failed us now our economy is in a rapid state of decline. As a growing number of people are losing their jobs and homes, many are finding themselves in rather precarious and even dire circumstances. Should the economy significantly worsen none of us likes… Continue

The Method by which the Federal Reserve creates money out of nothing; the concept of usury as the payment of interest on pretended loans; the true cause of the hidden tax called inflation; the way in which the Fed creates boom-bust cycles.
