Hello,

I run a website called Rejuvepedia. The website is based on MediaWiki which is the same software which is used to run Wikipedia. The idea is to create an encyclopedia about rejuvenating every organ and system of the human body.

This has some incredible implications for potential improvements to the quality of life for every single person on this planet.

I see this as only of the many potentially amazing possibilities that community currency will make possible.

Our business model is that we write articles for people according to their needs. If you have for instance loss of hearing or eye sight please write to us and we will begin to research and write an article about how to (or at least how it may be possible with the right technology, resources and services) rejuvenate this particular section of the body.

Although pricing is not known at this stage we will ask you to pay us in community currency for writing this article. We will write the article using research from many online and offline sources as well as assistance from other people and communities. The article will go into the wiki where it will likely be continually improved and updated in much the same fashion as wikipedia is. These updates are of course dependent on people having free time, interest and generosity to do so. Major updates or rewrites of articles may require furthur payment.

Please keep in mind the business plan and business model is still being worked out but I am very willing to get started on this. I am actually on holidays at the moment so might not be able to really get stuck in fufilling orders (request for articles) for another 2 weeks when I return from my trip but I will do as much as I can in the meantime using the time and resources I have available.

Rejuvepedia is registered on the community exchange global group if you want to search for our offerings.

Thank you

Hello,

I'm on the last few days of my holiday and am pretty keen to get started working for rejuvepedia's first customer. I will be back home in Australia in just a few days. I do need to find more work or a job in the cash economy when I get back and that is important but I will still have spare time to work on rejuvepedia.

Please send me a message to tell me what you think about the website and if you are interested in becomming a customer and if so what sort of services you are looking for.

best regards,

Chris

Understanding Money

I had one of those moments again, when I was wondering about the people of this world ....

Again and again I'm surprised about how little people care about the money system. Money is something so essential and central to our civilisation, yet almost nobody ever makes the effort to find out how it really works. When talking about the money system, I don't mean to talk about budgeting or investments or what we use money for. Of course money can be used for good, and often is. What I mean i… Continue

Currently working with people who need to work but do not have work

I am working with the Americorps VISTA program and am looking at this for a way to facilitate trade and employment for my office that I currently reside in which is in Northport, Alabama. I think the CES model is good yet what is its effectiveness thus far? What are the numbers for success? Is there any place I can look or find this information?
Thanks,

Book review of "The End of Money and the Future of Civilization", by Thomas Greco

Book Review: The End of Money and the Future of Civilization

By Thomas H. Greco, Jr

Published by: Chelsea Green Publishing, White River Junction, Vermont, USA (www.chelseagreen.com), 2009. ISBN 978-1-60358-078-6

Thomas Greco is the most radical writer on money today. The very title of the book suggests that the future of civilization depends on abandoning money-as-we-know-it. What could be more radical and revolutionary than that? Yet on readin… Continue

Introducing COGS

The Point of COGS

COGS stands for Circle of Gifts, and is a complementary currency specifically designed to help local communities re-localise activities. The aim of re-localisation is to provide inhabitants with the possibility of an acceptable quality of life when traditional economic development fails, or their circumstances are against them.

We believe complementary currencies will become more important as energy supplies dwindle and impact the economic growth so essential for inter… Continue

Mobilising The Real Wealth of Community - An Article by Alana Tobin

People around the world are increasingly concerned and even fearful about the present state of our economy and the real possibility of a recession turning into a depression. Having grown dependent upon an economic system which has increasingly failed us now our economy is in a rapid state of decline. As a growing number of people are losing their jobs and homes, many are finding themselves in rather precarious and even dire circumstances. Should the economy significantly worsen none of us likes… Continue
